Titel: Bye Bye Vista (2)

The launch of Windows 7 has been a tremendous success. Reviews have been generous with positive adjectives and the overall user response have been positive. So, it comes as no surprise that the launch has been a commercial success.

NetApplications made a survey just two weeks after the launch and found that Windows 7 has taken a market share of 4% among Internet connect computers.
Four percent may not sound that impressive, but it took Windows Vista seven months, or more than 30 weeks, to reach the same market share as Windows 7 did in two weeks, thus 15 times faster.

Already by the end of October, when Windows 7 had only been available for 8 days, the market share was up to 2.15 %, which has to be considered impressive.

Windows XP is still the dinosaur of the market, with 70.48 % market share. From there it's a big leap down to Windows Vista, Mac OS, etc.
