Okay I just found this solution out which searching. I'm not taking credit for this, just passing on the good word. First shut down all computers except the one where your homegroup resides. In the main computer open the c drive and go to the following filewindows\ServicesProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking Once you have opened this file you will see a list of files. At the bottom of the list will be one or several files that start with idstore.
the dot may be followed by an sset or an sst and some of the files may have a and a further extension. My computer had three such files. Highlight each file in turn right click on the file and delete it. Once you have deleted all idstore files, exit the c drive and shut down the computer.
Turn the computer back on go to home group and you will notice there is not a home group on the computer. Set one up. Next in turn open each other computer in your network and join the home group. Be sure to write down the computer generated password when setting up the home group. Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! en werken!
